New MVPs for Belgium & Lux announced
Each quarter Microsoft awards passionate technical community leaders with the Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award recognizing they are top-tier technology influencers and outstanding community contributors. Microsoft began the MVP Awards many years ago as a way to recognize members of the general public who devoted their time and technical expertise to helping users in various online technical forums. Over time, the program evolved, and awards are given to members of technical communities worldwide for their contributions to communities including third-party Web sites, user groups, blogs and wikis. MVP Awards are given directly by Microsoft Corp.
You can find the full list of all 38 new and existing MVP’s for Belgium & Luxembourg on Luc’s blog.
Outlook integrates social-network as Linkedin and Facebook.
This Wednesday, Microsoft issued beta software that brings social-network information into Outlook.
The product, called Outlook Social Connector, has been available in the Office 2010 beta.
Go to Outlook Social Connector download site and you will discover that the new version works with Outlook 2003 and 2007 and connects with social-network partners, which wasn’t the case with the earlier version.
Outlook Social Connector will let people see updates from a person’s social-network contacts.
Early in November, LinkedIn announced that it would become the first actual partner in the Microsoft program.
The LinkedIn connector is now available from LinkedIn’s Web site.
Microsoft said connectors for Facebook and MySpace will be available in the first half of 2010.
